Pastor Bob Loy
Bob was born in Orlando, Florida and accepted Christ as his Saviour while in high school. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Army. Returning from the military in 1962 he married Anita and they answered God's call to ministry. God has blessed them with three married children and five grandchildren.
In 2008 he had the privilege to become the founding pastor of First Baptist Church of Ponte Vedra Beach. The church met in Rawlings Elementary School, Ponte Vedra Beach before moving to it's new location at 35 Executive Way in 2009.
Beyond his college and seminary training Bob has specialized training in Value-Based Tactical Planning, Prepare/Enrich Counselor, Seven habits of Highly Successful People, Interim/Transitional Pastor, Church Conflict Management and Church Revitalization Network System.
Bruce Hutson, Worship Pastor
Bruce was born in Miami, Florida, and spent most of his childhood in a small town in central Florida called Lake Placid, where his father was pastor of the First Baptist Church. It was in that setting at the age of 9 that he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. Bruce later moved to Jacksonville as a teenager and received his bachelors degree from the University of Florida in computer engineering. He married Lori Lamb in 1985, and God has blessed them with two wonderful daughters, Cara and Catie.
Bruce answered God’s call to ministry in a very unique way. While he is not in full-time vocational ministry, God has given Bruce the privilege of serving Him in music ministry at numerous churches in northeast Florida, including 5 new church starts. He began serving at First Baptist Church Ponte Vedra Beach in April, 2009. He is grateful for every opportunity that God gives him to lead others in lifting up the wonderful name of Jesus through song.
Matt Eccles, Youth Pastor
Matt has lived in Florida for most of his life. He was saved at an early age but comitted his every thought to the Lord the day he turned 17. His calling since around that time has been to tell others about Jesus and the Lord has further refined that call. Right now God has led Matt to devote himself to building up the youth at the church in the Word of God and to spur them on to pursue Him. Matt graduated with a history degree at UNF in 2009 and is currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary at an extension center in Jacksonville.
Lori Hutson, Childrens Director
Lori was born right here in Jacksonville and has lived here most of her life. She was saved at an early age and loves serving the Lord in ministry. She is married to our Worship Pastor, Bruce Hutson and has two beautiful daughters, Cara and Catie. She loves children and enjoys planning activities and teaching children about Jesus. FBC of Ponte Vedra Beach is a wonderful place to serve the Lord.
